larry, you make it sound like you need to put it on with a 'space suit'. The only problem I've ever had was when I put it into a spray bottle. That was a dumb move.

Other than that I've had no problems with varnish, paint or anything else. It works amazingly well for the 'Chesapeake Bay mustache' and grunge at the water line.
