Ketch rigged boats, advantages?
In my head, a ketch rigged boat would have the advantages of spreading the sail plan over two shorter masts. Smaller sails would then be easier to handle. Mizzen would also make a nice anchor riding sail. Smaller masts would be lighter and easier to step and unstep. true?
Are there disadvantages besides additional rigging to maintain?

- You forget the ease of reefing/balancing by dropping the main.

- There are both. Something you don't hear is, 2 spars are expensive to build.
