Battery and boat size question
At what point in boat size do builders like Catalina, Hunter and Beneteau switch over from smaller, cheaper and more readily availabe deep cycles to the larger 4D and 8D battery banks?
We were surprised this past weekend to find that the newer Catalina 34 MKII next to us uses 8D's where as the two newer (2005)Hunter 33's came with group 24 deep cycles, the two newer Beneteau 395's are using 4D's. Do you suppose that is based on a previous owner retrofit, builder specs, equipment installed??
