The cruisers I know were in the last two years. Raymarine told one that it would be over 3 months to have the item repaired and shipped back. This was to a cruiser in Maine where the season isn't much longer. They said they had laid off most of their technicians. I'm not interested in a company like that.
If your experience was during the boom years then ok. But I want a solid company that takes care of customers during the lean years too!
Isn't Simrad now part of Raymarine. Seems to me that they were purchased by them about 3 or 4 years ago. Haven't heard any cruisers complaining about the service from Seafrost. Heard of frustrations with ICOM but never being blown off or put off so long as to be blown off.
BTW, cool pic! How'd you get it?
What I'm lamenting is that it's silly for people to support a company when the company isn't interested in them as a long term customer, only as a new customer. Glad you had a good experience with them. I'm sure then you'll stay.
