I'm almost done with the storm prep. Tied on four more big fenders for a total of eight. I tied the new ones on so they're floating at an angle so that if the boat is pitching, they'll fill in for fenders that get kicked up on the dock. I've taken off all my short dock lines so the boat can ride with big waves and tripled up on the others. I put four new dock lines on looser than the others, so that they can take over for lines that chafe through. I've tied the Boston Whaler on the roof down real good. My truck is full of my new electronics that I didn't install (procrastination pays off!), my Martin guitar, a propane tank, and personal papers and other effects that can't be replaced. I'm just waiting for the rain to stop so I can finish- take down the flybridge antennas and move the wicker furniture on the aft deck inside.
Larry D/H is in Greenwich, also in the path of Irene, but probably on the weaker side of it. I imagine he's hauling his trimaran out of the water right about now. DougR is in Glencove and his boat is fairly well protected and his house in on high ground.
Almost time to leave.
