I have a standing reservation in a spot that blocks other boats -- so I have to arrive late and leave early. It's part of the understanding with the marina. They pick up some extra transient revenue and I don't need to pay for a slip except when I need it for storms. Yesterday in the middle of prep some guy asked me to move to boat so he could go out for a sail.... I already had 5 dock lines (really 10 because each was doubled) and chafe gear rigged! Fortunately he was able to get by if I folded the outside float, so I accommodated him and opened wide again last night. The dock-master told me the guy should "get with the program".
