And no floors or walls please. And then of course for ambiance, stage fishing boats unloading, aloof tourists walking by, seagulls, etc.
Larsens gets two thumbs up. We've been in the fish monger business so we're quite critical. The local oysters on the half shell, well iced with just a lemon squeezed above, will last in my memory for a long long time. Fresh, amazingly clean local steamers were cooked just right, almost not cooked at all. Local scallops, fresh enough to eat "neat", were so good, we bought more to take with us when we left.
All the while, the sun slowly set on our bottle of iced Rose' in the foreground(Menemsha is dry, but our ice box on Xmas is not), turning it the most amazing hue of rose, and improving the taste(I swear!).
We had a local young woman join us (nothing like lobster traps and crates for seats to loosen up the clientele) and gives us some insider views. Very interesting to listen to locals.
Great food, wonderful service, very affordable, about perfect. It joins our long list of terrific waterside dining spots on the coast of NE.
