That's pretty much the way I see it, as well... So many of these people want to have it both ways, set out on a "life-affirming voyage" around the world in a bathtub, yet with all the safety nets in place... So few now seem willing to make the sort of commitment in the tradition of Blondie Hasler, or people like Tim and Pauline Carr - they deliberately chose to do their voyaging without EPIRBS and whatnot, because they appreciated what they were doing was a very high risk endeavor, and thought it was unfair to place any potential rescuers at risk...
A couple of things about this sort of "stunt" don't add up, for me... For example, I find it difficult to believe that the guy had no idea why the CG was boarding him, until they were suddenly ordering him off the boat, that just doesn't sound plausible, to me... I suspect there might be a bit more to this story than meets the eye, at the moment...
