We're officially south now. The pace is slow.
I put the Boston Whaler on the flybridge roof together and, hopefully, the old Evinrude will start and we can use the Whaler to get the dogs to shore when we anchor out.
One thing that has always worked on this old boat is the huge Ideal windlass, but for some reason I decided to test it the other day. I don't want Pam to have to haul up our 80 pound anchor by hand. It was deader than a doornail. I checked it as best as my stiff old back would allow and I think it's probably just corroded electrical connections. I decided to call an electrician, who we're still waiting for.
But Isle of Hope is hardly being stuck. It's beautiful here, and the marina is great. So here we sit. We'll get back underway soon, hopefully to St. Augustine before turning around and heading north.
