Just tonight saw a piece on the local news about a Kiwi having a boat built at Lyman Morse to beat Dodge Morgan's American solo round the world record. I met Dodge the day before he left Portland, and gave him a copy of my Southern Ocean journal. Upon his return, Dodge told me he read the journal and said to himself, 'if these two idiots can do it, so can I.' Miss him, he was a colorful and great person.
