In a world thats controlled and regulated to the nth degree, you can bet your bippee that if you have a collision (even during daylight) some shyster is going to require documentation of your masthead being 'certified' ... and if not, youre going to be read a parsed version of your insurance policy - especially the part which exonerates your insurance carrier from paying-up if youre not in complete compliance, etc. etc.
