I'm sure you all have experienced coming into an anchorage to see a number of disembodied masthead lights floating up in the sky with no indication of where exactly the boat underneath is sitting.
I don't use the masthead light because it uses too much electricity. Eventually I'll get on of Bebi's lights but for now and for ever more I'll be using the hurricane lamp.
It doesn't use electricity. It also lights up the deck and doghouse of the boat so you can actually see where the boat is.
Plus it's cool old school stuff. Long after all the expensive electronics and a bunch of other stuff are worn out the hurricane lamp will still work fine.
