is that one reason their "stuff" appears to work better is that Apple limits the operating parameters of their various devices, and then designs their "stuff" to only work within that narrow range of parameters. The best example I can give is Dave on Westsail 42 saying "I only hope one day someone ports over Airmail to the Mac."
As long as Apple doesn't have to support the wide range of odd hardware and software that the PC (and Droid smartphone makers) of the world have to support, then Apples "stuff" appears to work brilliantly.
This would be like buying a cruising boat and being told only to operate in 2-6 foot seas with winds between 6-14kts on warm sunny days... Of course things would appear to work beautifully.
Only Apple and their marketing folk could convince ATT and Verizon for instance to accept the iphone on Apple's terms... EVERY OTHER phone vender has to meet the specs of the carrier.
Its a wonderful world Apple operates in. And of course within that world, their stuff is grand.
