I was trying to decide on a Mac Air or the IPad. Got the IPad (biggest memory & the GSM version). My thoughts after 4 days.

It's not a replacement for a laptop. No where near! But! IT'S GREAT!

The biggest thing I've found is the joy of it's portibility. I pick up my laptop and it seems to weigh a ton. The IPad is great for just a quick grab. As a slave to a navigation computer it works. As a chart plotter running navionics it's great. Looking to use it as an anchor watch next to the berth while I'm sleeping.

Love it, will use it more than my laptop but it's not a replacement for one. Glad I got it.

The admiral will get a Mac Air when her current laptop goes toast.
