First, if Apple needs PC software to design things, they will boot their macs into windows and run it - not use emulation software. Not understanding that Macs can run windows natively leads me to believe you are debating well over your knowledge level here. Second, Autocad was originally written for the Mac many years ago and currently runs native on Macs. Third, PC's are not designed using Autocad (well, possibly the cases). They are designed using electronics software - much of it Unix based. Macs compile Unix very well.
And unless you can provide a reference to back up your claim on knowing what Apple uses to design their products (I don't, and suspect that it is a bit of a secret for them), then I call BS on that statement.
I'm glad to see you are agreeing with me and have changed your original position on the iphone and ATT technology issues.
Yes, Android does have a larger market share. This is exactly analogous to PC's having a larger market share. The problem is that no single Android maker is making much money off of them because they are fragmented so much. So look at that 25% iphone market share - that is solely owned by Apple. Now look at Android's 40% market share - that is split among dozens of companies.
So I guess I don't see your point about cellphone market share. Does a larger market share for an operating system equal a better operating system? Are people running away from the iPhone now because it is highly limited and can't perform up to Android? That last question isn't rhetoric - I have been away from the US for 4 years and have never used a smart phone of any type.
Apple doesn't tell you you have to buy anything - just like Cadillac does not force you to buy it. Apple has decided ONLY to sell into a certain market segment and to forgo the others. You seem offended about that for some reason. Yes, you can buy a cheaper computer, and if that is what you want, then that is what you should get. Let the whole idea of Apple go. Do you run around parking lots and argue with people driving Cadillacs? Do you place no value on design, fit and finish and personal taste? Those are variables that are priced into all products on the market - you even have that choice in produce at the grocery store.
All of us could have bought less expensive boats that fill the function of getting us out on the water. Even within a narrow category of boats, we make different choices and pay different amounts for those choices.
Ya gotta look deep inside and find where your anger toward apple is coming from, Gene...
