My last pair did have a compass with a light. So, I still did have to change the batteries once in a while.
Brings up a question. How often do people get a new set of binoculars?
My last set was an old waterproof Tasco unit. They worked just fine for us, were waterproof and lasted about 15 years. They just went unusable over the last few months. One of the eye pieces just came off and they fogged up.
BUT, at only a bit over US $100.00, I am inclined to pick up another set (or 2) to use instead of one set of $500.00+ ones.
My old eyes need to adjust my set, and Jill's eyes are different than mine. So, 2 units would make it nicer in real world usage.
