Can we count sails themselves? We don't charge them, they can be high tech (kevlar or other racing material), or rather low tech, such as dacron (or canvas).

And certainly if we can count sails, rigging and sheets belong.

Somehow, in my mind sailing, is the antithesis of what I do for a living.. I design "bleeding edge" wireless products using a variety of CAD tools... and sailing and cycling take me back to the age of levers, pulleys, and ropes and "low tech."

While I do have modern "conveniences" on both bike and boat that take electricity, I can do both sailing and cycling without electricity at all.
