I agree about tech “stuff” sucking our time and energy, BUT...

I am an admitted tech geek. I have more than 5 computer devices, cameras a batch, still and video, and an assortment of other geek stuff. When I am at a marina or ashore. I am on the net A LOT. And I am constantly fooling around with the gadgets. It's fun, at least for me, and I seem to be addicted to it! When I am fooling around with the stuff, I feel good.........

YET

I am just as happy, or even a bit more so, when at anchor with ALL of the tech stuff shut off and stowed away! Nothing makes me more happy than a good paperback book, a quite anchorage with few if any other boats around on a warm day. Or even on a cold day when we have our boat fireplace going with the fire door open and a hot coco (with a touch of amaretto liqueur). or a hot buttered rum.

I seem to be drawn to the polar opposites! It took me some time to realize this. Before we departed to actually go cruising I worried about getting board or ?? when anchored out. I now know better and that came as one of my epiphanies.

I seek out and relish / need the opposites.
