When I was working at a company one time they came out with this “wonderful” pice of software that management was sold on. In a meeting they said it would “only” take an hour or so of training per employee! I piped up and note the recent cut to the computing staff and asked how much that “cost saving” cut of programmers had now cost the company?
The reduction of 2 or 3 programming people had now cost the company 1 hour for each employee (over a few thousand people). Real good idea!!!
My speech was, “Teach the computer what the people need, don't teach the ALL of the people how to use a stupid program”.
I bet you can tell how well that went over...
