Glass or plastic? Dodger project...

My big winter project is going to be a hard dodger.

The top will be door skin plywood, glassed on both sides with a slight brow forward. The widows will be five segments with as little joining framework as possible. The center window will be removable for fresh air flow. It will be built on the existing tube frame and not joined to the cabin top, making it removable - I do not want to permanently modify the boat in a way that would reduce it's market appeal in the future. The design of the cabin top is very angular - sharp edges, not curvy. I want the dodger design to compliment that.

I am trying to choose the best material for the windows. Lexan or plexiglass would be lighter and probably cheaper but would scratch eventually. Glass could be two variants, tempered or laminated. At this time I have no clue about cost difference but it is probably not a significant factor. I expect the the overall cost will be competitive with professional canvass work since I will do the labor.

Has anyone here done a hard dodger? What window material did you choose? What would you do different you had to do it over?

Anyone have pictures?.
