was part of the overall design. It looks very nice. I hope to be able to come close to something like that but a key design constraint to me is that it be removable. Their design also has an integral arch for the traveler. I don't need that.

10 MM - 3/8 inch thick glass seems mighty heavy to me. I just looked up the weight of glass - 162 lbs per cubic foot. That comes to about 5 lbs per sq ft for 3/8 thick.
