If you really love your leaf blower, the noise doesn't bother you a bit.

Any backup home generator advice? (Slightly OT)
Honda Generators
VERY good advice by Al
I found tri-fuel conversion kits online
OK I just got my natural gas conversion kit running
How often do you lose your power Larry?
Not often.
Yes the Honda generator...
The Yamaha inverter generators are also excellent
A place in W.Va. makes/sells the tri-fuel Yamahas.
This is a bare bones transfer switch
Never needed one in the past, but who knows?
The gas boiler
The hydra for now. Ancient gas millivolt steam boiler...
we run ours under the door
Here either. We lit our oil hurricane lamp for the first time during Sandy.
If it doesn't start, then it's pretty quiet. ;^))))
That's where we got our tri-fuel Yamaha.
we have a Yamaha 2400
My thinking exactly! Always liked Yamaha.
A problem with inverter generators
I thought you could parallel 2 of 2000 for 220V?
How do you get them in phase? They're AC.
The parallel kits produce 30A at 120v
So how do you get 220V w/ two of these portalbe units?
You don't unless it comes that way
Agree, but..
why do you need 220?
Several reasons
You're hooking up an entire house with no natural gas.
Not the whole house, but just giving examples
Man that tri has a lota room.
One phase per hull?
I have a 5.5 kW generator with a 25A 220 VAC outlet
You could go with a step-up transformer
Honda 2000 vs. Yahama 2000
The Yamaha looks better than the Honda.
Buy used...
Generator for home
Silent diesel generator
Silence
The silent diesel is about half the cost
I think gas would be easier to cycle through
Propane has no shelf life.
Yes you're right. You should see the reviews on the "silent diesel generator"
Interesting, but...
Constant RPM
Silent? "Enclosed for reduced noise levels" ???
If it doesn't start, then it's pretty quiet ...
Great photo Steve.
And not an electric leaf blower
They're quieter than a rake.
