Replaced the primary filter and then tried to ensure that there was no air in the system... but using the tiny lever at the feed pump seemed to be taking forever. So I followed Greg's suggestion and installed a bulb type primer pump in the fuel line. I was able to squeeze that and within a dozen pumps or so I could hear fuel returning to the tank. I then went through and opened connections at the primary filter, the secondary filter, and the injectors, to ensure that there was no air in the lines. (pump, open line, see fuel flow, pump, close)
OK should start right up. But it didn't. The engine sounded like it wanted to run... and would make some tentative chugs in the right direction... but it never really caught beyond a few revs. It would try and and it pushed out the mixed water/exhaust, but it never went beyond a few revs... never hit idle, and seemed to hate it even more with the throttle open.
Finally, out of frustration, I put both batteries on line and closed the raw water intake and just cranked and cranked... it never caught. (really, cranked no more than about 8 seconds...)
I'm beginning to wonder if the main feed pump is messed up. If it were a gas engine, I would wonder about spark.
So if any of you 2GM20F experts have any suggestions... I'd sure appreciate it.
Fair winds folks... and you in the upper NE, get warm.
