Well that hasn't happened.
If you heard fuel returning to the tank using the squeeze bulb it's getting through the filters

As a self proclaimed king of starting diesels now...
Well, it ran wonderfully for 2 years...
Any kind of a blockage would starve the engine.
Once you get air in the injector pump ...
Instead of removing th impeller,
Put in a Vacuum guage
The Yanmar does have a little-mentioned bleed screw on the HP pump.
Most engines do, but it doesn't do any good..
Think you can "click" fuel up to that point, though.
I've never had any bleeding problems, even running the engine dry of fuel.
My 2 cents. It's simple. Keep bleeding until the engine starts, Gene.
