was that everything I needed was still within a short walk from the public landing - groceries (the Co-op), library, hardware store, laundromat, post office. In most US coastal towns, groceries etc were a bike ride away from the water. There were small homes, ones I could afford, near the water. The folks I met were ones I could spend years with and never tire of. We shared a similar philosophy of life that seemed to be driving the decisions about how the town should be run. I've not regretted for a moment my decision. I imagine I could have been saying the same about any of the other "home towns" I discovered along the way.
