Expensive to buy a home in that area, and expensive to keep a boat... and nearly impossible to find a place with it's own dock, as some of our East Coast friends have.

We are also considering what/where when we retire... plan on sitting in Mexico for a while, but suspect that eventually we will go way north... unless the cold shocks the sense back into us.

So Cal is just too expensive, for the most part.
