All just ideas.
Plana (2 cays) is a really interesting place to explore if the weather is nice. There's not much in Mayaguana as you're in an anchorage in the middle of nowhere but if you anchor at Plana there's miles of coral heads you can dingy through and of course,,,, those really neat coral formations washed up on the beach. We have one in our house but it's only 1/4th the size it was when we first brought it aboard. Really neat and very fragile. I can't touch it anymore. As I mentioned, it's like a block of lace. Plana is just one of those places that has black coral heads 3 feet below the surface and a direct drop to a flat 10 with white sand between the heads.
If the weather is really nice and the swell is from East but not North of East and you're at Rum Cay,,,, (you can tell if it's good in Flamingo if the swell is wrapping around the point at Rum Cay) if it is and it's uncomfortable in the anchorage at Rum go around to the other side to a bay called 'Flamingo Bay' and work your way behind Peewee Point. Again you need to work your way around big coral heads but they're black with white sand around like the photo of Plan and drop the anchor in 7 feet of sand behind the point. Ask Jon E how the place is. Here's a photo of TD, the only boat there for 4 days. (only if it's uncomfortable in the main anchorage on the other side of Rum)
Damn,,,, I sound like I miss it don't I.
Again, have a great time where ever you go. I'm just jealous and blabbing. It's been a long time.
