...I just assumed the author was confused, somehow... Also, the mention that "all systems would be down, EXCEPT the engine..." makes no sense, either - unless the alternator was not charging at all? Moreover, if they knew that they were gonna lose "all systems" before reaching Bermuda, not turning back into Norfolk at that point seems unfathomable...

Hey, speaking of Don Street... I've recently finished his GUIDE TO THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS, which of course you edited... What an enjoyable read, I can't tell you how much I enjoyed it, and it has really whetted my interest in seeing that place someday, sounds fascinating... It's obvious Street's writing might be a challenge to edit, but I compliment you on not doing so too tightly, and letting him wander off and ramble a bit... Nice job, very well done...
