He's full into to installing pellet boilers today, building hoppers, etc. I'm 4 years now heating with pellets. In those 4 years I've seen pellets go from scarce to everywhere, the quality go up, and the price go down. The systems to heat with wood pellets(not a perfect fuel), are now in place.
