Now maybe it is a false perception... on my part, based on vacationing on Kauai and The Big Island over the last couple of years... I see so few sail boats there. Granted there are commercial sailing Cats, and the harbors are few. I suggested to my wife that the reason so few boats were on the Big Island is that it is a relatively "poor" island, and that perhaps there were a lot more yachts on Oahu, especially considering the very protected Pearl Harbor marinas.
Anybody have any comments on this... is it a bad perception by me, or a monetary thing or do folks just tend to transit though or what?
BTW saw a rather interesting Aries 32 there, while having breakfast in a Kona boat yard and watching the boat get hauled.

The owners gave us a complete tour... very interesting electric drive system... looked like a fine Swiss watch.
