Thanks for that. I guess that is the Fontaine mainsheet arrangement.

In fact what little I know includes that the owner of Cary Ali had a Fontaine 40 and loved it so much, he had Fontaine design his new 36 as close as possible to that. The real design impetus was to create a shoal draft of 2'8" to allow it to get to his dock. Then safety for his guests and family was next.

All I know about the mainsheet is, it too is push button controlled to an electric winch below. I'm almost surprised with the complexity of the spar/boom/hydraulic vang and all controls button operated, there isn't some way the gooseneck hasn't been mechanized to allow boom angle adjustment, there by eliminating the mainsheet all together.
