Why don't you just install a chart app on the ipad, Blye?

Then you have a completely separate chart plotter onboard. This is assuming you have a gps enabled ipad. If not, you can add an external antenae(I had to, my ipad is wifi only). I love having the two aboard.

- Yes. Then our external gps, through blue tooth, plots our location on the charts.
