But definitely at the helm. Another couple with a Tartan 30 used to crew for me racing. She was wonderful on the helm, allowing me and the other owner to tweak things. I remember one race where she asked where to go - I looked around at the fleet near us after the start, and told her to chase a Saber 38 (that had to give us 30 minutes for the race). Best thing was the communication - as we changed things, she'd tell us the affect on the helm and the steering. We learned a LOT about racing a Tartan 30 that day. Oh yeah, crossed the finish line 3 minutes before the Saber.
