Whether in an urban, suburban, or rural setting, or at sea -- in some cases the risks are different, but there is always the risk of a health emergency. They were prepared enough to have the means to be able to call for rescue when they needed to. Hardly negligent.

At least they're living their lives fully, and not in a bubble. I'm glad for them that the rescue seems to have been in time to save the baby and I'm sorry for them they're going to have to listen to all this BS and criticism from people who think they know better how other people should live.
