and they took so much water that I gave it up. Now with modern watermakers it might be easier. I'm not sure that it's worth the effort. With flash frozen vegetables and efficient freezers you have so many options that weren't available in the past that it might be only truly useful on very long ocean passages or on boats with very small or no freezers. It seems that most cruising boats today have fairly good refrigeration systems so it becomes more of a hobby rather then a necessity. IMHO
