The frame is actually a local made unit from a Catalina 270. Last year it was as you described, the snow slid off the wrap without any issues. This year we did have several episodes of freezing rain which did NOT slide off the wrap, instead froze to the wrap and then attracted snow.

When I shrink a boat, right or wrong, I always get wrap that is wide enough to shrink down to the water line stripe. That is the way this boat was wrapped. No Styrofoam standoffs though, I never heard of that before and don't know of anyone at our club that does that.

I am quite discouraged over the prospects of fixing all this.
