If the bearing you have fits your shaft, and is readily available, perhaps it would be better to modify your stern tube to accept this bearing.

It's a very small amount of material, I think you could do it with a hand reamer.

Don't worry if you make it too big you can always glue it in; Glued into an over-sized tube is a lot easier to remove.
