In the 11 years since I installed the windless I have never once used my cockpit controls, even when single handing. One can't see the angle of the chain from the cockpit, so I'd rather run up to the bow after a shot of forward and control the windless from there. If there is someone else aboard i.e. the Admiral, she operates the windless and I am at the helm. Save your $.
