Did you spend the whole summer? What areas were you in?

Our son loves the weather there but as a student, he's normally left by early July. At that time-in Rome(according to him), the heat is stifling(and he and I both like the heat).
Then in winter, he says it rains often and can be pretty dismal, for a bit.

But those two seasons don't last long, the bulk of the year is beautiful weather, at least by our 'northern' standards.
