Good question. Nope, each line will carry it's own in-line fuse and the lengths are same as they have been with the alternator alone for years. Also, I think it's of importance that the percentage of time that both the alternator and charger would run together is very tiny. The charger will only work when the boat is under shore power and not underway. The boat doesn't have a genset so it can't work. Being a "smart charger" I think it will also sense that the alternator is already pumping current and not even engage to the batteries. Thoughts?
