No, the Pogo doesn't have add'l fins or daggerboards, the Mainecat 30 does -- all of which will detract from performance, both speed and weatherliness.

All boats make leeway and pinching one up to get the instruments to 'show' a great apparent wind angle will certainly result in a 'yuge' increase in leeway. That's why the quoted 32 degree apparent wind angle on the new 38 doesn't yet mean much to me. The new 38 has very high aspect daggerboards which will be great for windward efficiency UNTIL they stall and then 'slip sliding away' will have a new meaning!

(I've interjected the 38 because it's actually so much different from the MC 30 and for the better I hope--being as I have a personal interest in that being so)
