Offshore, in a rising wind and sea, I prefer lazy rings (dog ears?) Hooked on a horn compared to threading a pennant thru the cringle and then tying a knot under the boom

- Some of my favorite sailing was on my Nimbus 42' in gale force winds with a triple reef in the main
