Just to elaborate: Apparently if the saw blade sheds a tooth it can jam inside the cut, and the resulting sudden stop can cause the saw to violently self destruct (e.g. bent fence and/or casting that holds the motor/hinge). I do not want to have my hand close to the cut in such a situation.
