I should say, we re-use them, trash cans in the head.
Here in Italy, they charge 5 cents (eu) for them. Lots of people
here, including ourselves use our own reusable bags and backpacks
to carry groceries. Some areas here in the med are clear and
pristine, others are not.
When crossing the pond in 2007, we did not catch anything but plastic
between St Martin and the Azores. its was really disappointing. the plastic
we caught looked like shredded strips.
