But I very rarely use plastic to buy groceries. The cloth bags are a lot easier to handle anyway, especially heavy items like milk. I often forget to take the cloth bags into the hardware store or WalMart. I still find that I end up with more plastic bags than I can use for trash so I take them in to my daughter's day care. They use them to send home wet "accident" clothes. I used to throw out the extra, we are down to the point now that we can keep ahead of them. I didn't realize how much waste there was in plastic bags until we started using the cloth ones regularly. What really amazes me about that video is the water bottles though. I just showed it to my kids so they get an idea of what impact our actions can have. We have stainless water bottles for everyone in the family to avoid the plastic, it just seems like such a simple thing. I'm hoping our kids will be better at looking after our planet than we have been.
One of our cloth bags has a quote on it "We do not inherit the planet from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children"
