Another thing to consider. I'll take a closer look at all my hose connections in the raw water system, but esp. before the pump and at the raw water filter. Thanks for the tip...hadn't even thought of this. I've got a Groco sea strainer, and had to frequently (weekly) clean it during a five month cruise this year with lots of sea weed in it. Perhaps it isn't/hasn't sealed properly...entirely possible.

- By chance a Volvo shop yesterday referred me to a specialty marine pump shop in town --they said the same thing
