Some yes, but I think you've missed the performance aspect that's the heart of this design Jerry.

These boats are capable of planing for extended periods and reaching higher speeds than comparably sized monohulls. Whether that catches on or not, who knows.

Here's two "popular" new deisgns, the Presto and the Morris 29. Each one embodies a bit different idea than cruising as define by the last few decades of 30'ers.

Still, new boats are not marching off the shelf today.
