....cushions once, actually we did one Bass Harbor to Newport and two Bermuda races on that boat. On the second trip to Bermuda I swore it was my last on that boat if the owner didn't allow me to bring some different cushions along. He has a fear of sliding on the cushions too. I won and I purchased three pre made c cushion type things (closed cell dipped in vinyl) from a marine store in Bermuda for the return trip. It was muzch more comfortable than the trip down and no one got hurt! We have cruised about 14000 miles with Sunbrella cushions including three Bermuda races with no problems. Our cushions are tied in, thus they are secure.
I really hate sitting on fiberglass! Teak would probably be ok and I really really like my cushions.
I have spent my entire career standing and working on concrete so I've had my fill of hard surfaces. Comfort is where it is at!
