I could be wrong on this, but I think (if they're not the same) the preferred method is to use the heavier anchor in the middle position.

- I had to replace my chain last season, so I snipped off a foot of the old
- I went down to 1/4
- so this raises a bit of a catch-22 question...
- More scope is always better holding, according to the calcs
- OTOH, in some anchorages you can't put out as much scope, so then heavier can be nice
