I have a "Hatch Umbrella"
I think most boats (mine too even with ample dorade vents) are ventilation challenged in rain.
Actually the hatch tent works OK in some conditions
Here's an old boat with a "hatch dodger"
Another simple option that works in many conditions
Some clever designer could improve on this idea

I was able to take a pic of mine tonight
Those both look great. But they rely solely on aft facing hatches, right?

If somebody can come up with the miracle solutiion,
Seems to me the whole key is a Z shaped airflow...
My Atkins-Hoyle hatches are reversing....
